When it comes to tasting coffee, there’s no better expert than our special guest, the award winning Okon Udosenata. He stopped by to show share one of his favorite beans with us, talk cupping and pouring, and offer a few suggestions on how to choose and brew the best roast.
As a competitive coffee roaster, Okon has placed second in Pacific Northwest regional roasting competition and sixth place in national competition here in the U.S. He has also spent time in Colombia working small coffee farms and building relationships with specialty coffee producers there and other countries such as Brazil, Viet Nam, Guatemala, and the Congo (DRC).
